Nicki Minaj Spoke to Drake About Executive Producing Her New Album
Drake may be putting his stamp on Nicki Minaj’s next album.
In a Twitter Q&A with fans over the weekend, the “Bussin” rapper revealed that she spoke with her Young Money brother about having him executive produce her upcoming fifth studio album.
“We actually discussed him EP’ing this new album. That was b4 Seeing Green even came out,” Nicki said when asked if the album will include a collaboration with Champagne Papi.
Their conversation happened prior to the release of “Seeing Green” in May 2021, so it remains to be seen if Drake will EP the highly-anticipated project, which is slated to arrive before the summer.
Nicki previously credited Drake for helping her overcome her writer’s block after she gave birth to her son. “He single handedly got me out of my writer’s block, and I’m never gonna forget it and I’m gonna shout it to the fu**ing world from the mountain tops,” she said on IG Live. “He’s a fu**in’ genius as a musical artist but also as a human.”
During her Q&A, Nicki also weighed the possibility of a “Big 3” tour with Drake and Lil Wayne.
“Have you ever thought about a Big 3 Tour and maybe making it happen ??? Seeing Green will sound so good live,” asked a fan.
“Yes, of course- that’s been discussed many times. Really a matter of timing,” she responded. “Also, IDK how all 3 of us would have enough time on stage to please all of our diff fans. Those are some pretty large catalogs.”
