Sigma fp L camera announced
Sigma has released details of a new version of its compact, interchangeable-lens camera, the fp L, with an L-mount, 61-megapixel resolution and support for 4K UHD recording.

Claimed as the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame camera, the fp L boasts a 36 x 24 mm back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a Bayer colour filter array and 62.4 million photosites. Effective resolution is 61 megapixels and the camera supports DNG.RAW capture with lossless compression and 12- or 14-bit colour depth. RAW+JPEG recording is available for stills, while CinemaDNG (8-bit, 10-bit or 12-bit) and MOV:H.264 (with ALL-I or GOP compression) for video recording. The new camera has a hybrid image plane phase-difference and contrast detection AF system that offers Single AF, Continuous AF (with moving object prediction function) and Manual focus modes as well as 49-point selection, face/eye detection and tracking AF. Focus peaking and image magnification are available for checking manual focus.
Images are framed on a 3.15-inch TFT colour LCD monitor with 2,100,000 dots and electrostatic capacitance touchscreen system. No viewfinder is included but an optional, tiltable EVF can be attached to the side of the camera via the USB and HDMI ports. It has a resolution of 3,680,000 dots and 0.83x magnification and adds a headphone socket. Otherwise the new model resembles the original Sigma fp model.
