Kudos to photographer Ron Johnson for the steady hands.
The plane of focus was only a few millimetres deep at best, so getting the details right from those tiny hairs on the little creature’s head, through the delicate venation of wings to the tip of the abdomen is quite the accomplishment.
The 150mm macro meant he could avoid startling his little subject before the portrait sitting was concluded.
