The Game Denies Dissing JAY-Z for Excluding Him From Super Bowl Halftime Show
The Game has no beef with JAY-Z.
Following the historic Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, which featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent, the “Eazy” rapper seemingly felt some type of way about not being included in the festivities, despite it being held in his hometown of L.A.
He expressed his resentment by reposting comments from others on Instagram, including one from King Trell, who wrote, “FYI: @losangelesconfidential Should’ve been on stage at the Super Bowl I’ll be first to say it.”
In a recent Clubhouse chat, Game’s former manager Wack 100 claimed that Game told JAY-Z to “suck his dick” ahead of the halftime show and that’s why he wasn’t on the bill. JAY-Z and Roc Nation produced the halftime show.
“That’s why The Game wasn’t on the [halftime show],” said Wack, according to HotNewHipHop. “Because Game told that ni**a [JAY-Z] to suck his dick like 18 hours ago.”
Now The Game is clearing his name. Taking to Instagram on Sunday morning, he shut down Wack’s claim that he dissed Hov and denied that he felt slighted for not being included.
“I ain’t had no conversation with nobody regarding Jay-Z & the Super Bowl he put together,” he wrote. “I don’t feel no way about not being included. It was a GREAT SHOW featuring iconic artists. It was a WIN for the culture.”
“I control my own narrative. Do not be fooled by the internet, blogs, podcasts or anyone speaking on my name that is not me,” added Game, who is readying his new album Drillmatic. “My life & new album are both amazing & I’m in a great space creatively & artistically.”
Game is currently in Miami working on Kanye West’s DONDA 2. “I’m in Miami to help Ye’ finish Donda 2 & support my friend in one of the most pivotal times of his life/career,” he said. “Leave me & my name out of any NEGATIVE conversations unless I have given you a REAL reason to include me !!!”
He also showed love to JAY-Z by celebrating his contributions to the culture. “Hov’ continues to break down doors for the culture & I am in full support of anything & anyone who is on the help side of urban greatness,” he said.
