Nicki Minaj Reveals Why She Won’t Work With City Girls
A Nicki Minaj and City Girls collaboration is not about to happen anytime soon.
During an interview with “The Morning Hustle,” Nicki was asked if she would ever do a song with the Miami duo. The hosts knew something was up when she responded by shifting her eyes.
“Well, umm, I don’t know,” she began. “What I will say is that a few years ago, I saw a video of them and I asked someone on their team at that time, I asked someone about them. I was thinking about jumping on one of their records that was out at that time. And then social media happened…”
She alluded to repeated comments made by Yung Miami and JT on social media and interviews where they threw shade at her. “The thing is, whenever you post something on the internet, it’s there forever. Whenever you say something in an interview, it’s there forever.”
Nicki said she has no interest in collaborating with someone who seemingly doesn’t like her.
“If I was about to go out to dinner with you tonight and I then get something that says, ‘She don’t really f**k with you like that. She was saying this and she don’t really like you.’ … I’m not gonna go out to dinner with you anymore because now I know that I like you, but you don’t really like me. That’s just a human way to feel if you hear somebody was saying things about you. Not just one thing, but repeated things for years.”
Added Nicki, “Why would I work with somebody who doesn’t like me?”
City Girls appeared to side with Cardi B amid her feud with Nicki. Last year, Yung Miami asked Nicki to unblock her on Instagram, seemingly unaware of the issues.
I’m not obsessed, desperate, none of that fr I just asked her to unblock me I ain’t do shit! Tf

The duo has expressed interest in collaborating with Nicki in the past. “We want to work with Nicki Minaj because we feel like that’s the only female artist we haven’t worked with yet,” Yung Miami told The Shade Room in 2020. “We feel like it’s only right to work with Nicki Minaj.”
