Proving once again that you needn’t traipse off to the ends of the earth for a nice picture, Ron Johnson’s backyard portrait ticks all the boxes of the genre.
The focus is clean and sharp where it matters, the exposure’s bang on and the background is untroubled by visual distraction.
The open beak (mid-call?) provides a welcome touch of animation.
