DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, and More Performing at 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest
This Sunday (February 20), the 71st NBA All-Star Game will take place in Cleveland and air live at 8 p.m. Eastern on TNT. During halftime, there will be a ceremony for the league’s 75th anniversary featuring narration from Usher, Spike Lee, Tiffany Haddish, and Anthony Anderson. In addition, Earth, Wind & Fire will perform “Shining Star.”
There’ll be some proceedings ahead of the game, too: Cleveland native Machine Gun Kelly and DJ D-Nice will introduce the 2022 NBA All-Stars; Macy Gray will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner”; and Ryland James will sing “O Canada.”
The night before the All-Star Game is the Slam Dunk Contest, airing at 8 p.m. Eastern on TNT. DJ Khaled is the pre-contest attraction, and, as usual, his performance will feature a myriad of big name guests: Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Gunna, Migos, and Lil Baby will all be there.
Earlier on Saturday (at 2 p.m. Eastern) is the inaugural NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T. The game will be preceded by Keke Palmer and the Howard University Showtime Marching Band’s performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
And, lastly, the 2022 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game takes place on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern, and several of the players are musicians: Jimmie Allen, Machine Gun Kelly, Quavo, Anuel AA, Kane Brown, Jack Harlow, and Anjali World. Other notable participants are Tiffany Haddish, Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett, skateboarder Nyjah Huston, and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb.
