Laowa Argus 45mm f/0.95 FF lens announced
Venus Optics has added a new member to its Argus series of super-fast full frame lenses, the Argus 45mm f/0.95 FF.

As the second full-frame member of the Argus f/0.95 series, the new lens provides a very modest wide-angle perspective with a 51.3 degree angle of view plus an extremely shallow depth of field for differential focusing. The lens is said to render ‘dreamy bokeh’, making it ideal for portraiture or product and food photography. The optical design comprises 13 elements in nine groups and includes one aspherical element, one element made from extra-low dispersion glass and three UHR glass elements to achieve high optical performance. It features a de-clickable aperture ring so it can be used for recording video clips plus internal focusing to prevent dust entering the lens barrel.
The internal focusing design also reduces focus breathing and makes it easy to use angle-critical filters. The filter thread accepts 72 mm diameter filters. The new lens will focus to within 50 cm of subjects where it provides a maximum magnification of 0.12x. It is 110mm long with a diameter of 76.8 mm and a basic weight (without lens hood and end caps) of 835 grams. It is available in Sony E, Nikon Z and Canon R mounts.
The Laowa Argus 45mm f/0.95 FF lens is currently available to purchase via the Venus Optics official website and authorised resellers. The US price for the Laowa Argus 45mm f/0.95 FF is $799. Click here for more information.
